Early Treatment
What are the advantages to beginning a treatment early?
Although orthodontic treatment may not be necessary for all children; a timely, vigilant examination could greatly anticipate most oral/ dental problems before they get a chance to develop. The earlier we get to begin treatment; the more we can assure you the best possible results in the least amount of time and expense.
At what age is the first visit recommended?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial evaluation at the first sign of orthodontic problems or no later than age 7.
Adult Treatment
If you thought braces were just for kids and teens... guess again. It's been proven that orthodontic treatment at a later stage of life greatly reduces the development of a wide array of age related oral and dental diseases; such as gingivitis and gum disease, loss of teeth, tooth decay, tooth sensitivity, premature wear of the tooth surface... even chronic headaches and jaw joint pain (TMJ or TMD).
The good news is that now, there are new technologies and techniques available that are specially designed to significantly reduce discomfort, visits and treatment time. As an alternative to metal braces, you may want to consider porcelain (tooth colored) brackets, translucent brackets or the every-day- more-popular transparent aligners that can be worn to improve mild cases of misaligned teeth.
We currently serve many satisfied adult patients who proudly decided that it's never too late to gain a better outlook on life. Their frequent smiles boldly tell us so.
